Orange-Headed Thrush

The Orange-Headed Thrush is unmistakable with its bright orange head, breast and body. It has greyish upper parts and blue wings and tail.

We saw this bird in Kerala and this sub-species has black and white stripes near its eye.

This bird is a host of the Pied Cuckoo. The Pied Cuckoo lays a single egg in the Orange-Headed Thrush's nest, but the host's chicks usually die since it can't compete successfully with the cuckoo's chicks.

Chirp!
